Welcome to St. Thomas Aquinas Priory
Dominican House of Studies, Ibadan
Saint Dominic intimately linked study to the ministry of salvation. He sent his brothers to the Universities to study so as to equip them for the ministry of the word. That tradition continues even till today. The Ibadan priory is the centre of basic studies for the Dominicans of the Province of Nigeria and Ghana.
Cloister
Cloister is observed in Dominican convents so that the brothers may be better able to devote themselves to contemplation and study.
Prayer
Community and private prayer life occupies a most indispensable part of the spirituality of the Dominicans.

INTELLECTUAL LIFECommunity and private prayer life occupies a most indispensable part of the spirituality of the Dominicans.
Prayer LifeThe white Dominican habit is indicative of purity while the black cappa implies penance and prayer.
Our HabitDominicans profess the vows of obedience, poverty and chastity. These vows are otherwise referred to as the Evangelical Counsels. The aim of the vows is to help the individual cling more tenaciously to God with an undivided heart.
