There is a popular saying that: “Some give to the Mission by going, Some go to the Mission by giving, without both, there is no Mission”. Dominicans give to the Mission by going, but they depend on the goodwill of other Christian faithful to make their mission complete and fruitful. This goodwill can be shown through:
PRAYER: The greatest gift you can give to our Religious Order is your prayer: Pray for the success of our missionary apostolate all over the world and pray too for vocation to the religious life.
SPONSORSHIP: The Dominicans has Formation Houses in Nigeria, and Brothers are studying to take up major missionary apostolates. It takes an average of N350,000.00 to maintain each Novice, and N500,000.00 to train each Brother for one year. If you think you can sponsor a Brother, or make a financial contribution towards their training, please visit our vocation support website.

The Dominican Media is an apostolate of the Order aimed at educating the society on moral and social issues via its programs. It offers quality services in production of short films, documentaries, events coverage and rentals of media equipment.
In every age of challenge, the Lord has never abandoned His Church. St. Dominic’s mission, to preach the Gospel for the salvation of souls, is just as urgent today as it was 800 years ago. The Solemn profession of Vows marks a life time commitment to this mission.
Dominican life is both contemplative and apostolic. The branches of the Dominican family are multiple: brothers, contemplative nuns, congregations of contemplative and apostolic sisters, lay persons in fraternities or secular institutes, secular priests in fraternities.

The Chapter Providence (2001) clearly distinguish between three groups of the Family;
A. In the first group, though distinct among themselves, those whose bound with the Order is directly with the Master of the Order through their profession of vows or promises.
1. The friars,
2. The cloistered nuns and
3. Members of the lay and priestly fraternities (previously known as third order).
B. The second group, includes the distinct institutes of consecrated life aggregated to the Order participating in its mission through their congregational charisms, although they do not have a direct juridical bond to the master of the order.
1. Sisters of Dominican Congregations of apostolic Life and
2. Members of certain secular institutes, by various titles, are part of the Order of preachers.
C. In the third group, there are new initiatives
1. The Associations attached mentioned in the LCO 152-153 and Appendix n. 4 ( e.g. the confraternities of the Rosary),
2. The new groups that can be recognized by the provincial Chapters of friars or by the prior provincials with their councils, or by the general prioresses of the congregations of Sisters,
3. The members of the different groups of the Dominican Youth Movement and
4. Many other persons that, without any type of formal commitment participate and collaborated in various ways in the mission of the Order.
The long history of our Order shows that there are many ways of living the charism and the mission of preaching that are complementary among themselves and consequently, increase the vigor and riches of the common mission.
This diversity may be wells of blessings if we learn to complement each other, living in fidelity to one’s own vocation and sharing the particular contribution that each branch is called to offer.

Our Vows
Poverty, obedience and chastity make us men who try to consecrate ourselves for the adventure of the Kingdom of God.
The Four pillars
The Dominican Spirituality is most times described in terms of our four pillars: prayer, study, community and ministry.
